Shining Down

I was in the valley.
I was in the shadow of the fall.
I lost my way from home.

I was broke and blinded.
My heart was forced to crawl.
Not knowing what’s to come.

So I called out surrender.
Said “I’m tired of it all.”
But then you came and made me strong.

You brought down my defenses.
Yea you tore down my walls.
Just to show me I belong.

Now I’m right where I’m supposed to be.
In the ray of light shining down on me.
Right where I’m supposed to be.

You’re my ray of light.
Shining down on me.

Scared of starting over
Thought I was home all along.
Well it turns out I was wrong.

How could I have known the pain in my own heart?
Without first falling apart.
