Flight of the Aeronaut
Lyrics
Feel My Love
I’ve been waiting a long time to feel like I’m home
I was broken so early my young heart grew old
I was chasing the cold lie the memories of ghosts
You’re the hope of the morning in my midnight storm
Can you feel my love?
Can you feel my love?
Can you can you feel
Can you can you feel
Can you can you feel my love
I’ve been waiting a long time to feel like I’m home
Forward
Oh sour so it goes
Broken pieces of the whole
And my heart came down like hammer sounds
And fought through the night
As my shadows came to life
So blinded by my goals
Ten feet out of twelve foot holes
My life was found on shameful ground not filled with love
Now the pieces fall to dust
Carry me forward
I’m lost when I’m down here
I’m cold and full of fear
There was a fire in my heart
But the waters of this world washed it down to a dwindling spark
There was a fire in my soul
Now the ashes are all cold and I’m calling into the dark
To carry me forward
Now my body feels so old
Fall into the underworld
And this wound has wound my heart into a fierce and lonesome beast
Will his terror ever cease?
Carry me forward
I’m lost when I’m down here
I’m cold and full of fear
There was a fire in my heart
But the waters of this world washed it down to a dwindling spark
There was a fire in my soul
Now the ashes are all cold and I’m calling into the dark
To carry me forward
How can we live with ourselves
We chose to be right instead of to love
Out of this cold little hell
We chose our own pride instead of the cross
My Bonaparte
I was a king for a while
My ideas were alright
I had a castle made of clouds
Where I’d sit and sing out loud
But then I fell to the ground
And the sky came tumbling down
Full of doubt now I drown
In this sorrow where’s my crown?
You are my heart, Revolution that’s fighting for love
My Bonaparte, waging war against all of my dark
You are my heart
My Bonaparte
She is my voice in the quiet
And armies strength in her smile
Raises me up from my rags
A burst of color from my flags
Full of hope that ringing sound
She’s my jewel my noble crown
The Sweetest Words
There’s a world outside my head
That I don’t understand yet
And when I’ve tried to get along
I did it all wrong
I’ve searched for love since I was young
To have a friend in the unknown
I can see her soul shine through her eyes
Now in the chaos I feel fine
Lover won’t you lay here with me?
Over us the stars make our canopy
Lover hope and pray for our hurts
Cover all our scars with the sweetest words
And the stars in the sky
Shine bright for you and I
And so we come alive
Broken
My fallen heart has fallen for you hard
Cry for the spark I’ve been wounded by the dark
Can you live with that love
Live with that?
All the old hurts split my mind in two
The war inside bursts and I sometimes lose
Can you live with that, love, live with that?
I’m just a broken man
I’m just a broken man
I’ll try my best but I make no promises
To leave you unscathed
But I’ll let you in the same
Scars
Every heart is broken know you’ll
Tear yourself wide open lover
Every eye is searching for it
Little lies to move you forward
And oh hold on it’s not far
And oh you are more than your scars
You are more than your scars
You are more
You don’t seem to be yourself this morning
Underneath my aching question
Looking for your full affection
How can I receive you lover?
If my own mind makes me suffer?
And oh hold on it’s not far
And oh you are more than your scars
The Furnace
And I will hold on to my stubborn gladness in the ruthless furnace of the world
And I will hold on to my stubborn gladness in the ruthless furnace of the world
Eat and drink with gladness
Shake off all your sadness
God already approves
What you do
What you do
What you do
What you do
Sangre de Cristos
Go down the road we’ve never been
Slow as the storm settles in
You show no fear of giving in
As we make our way through the hail and the wind
See I’ve never felt this far from home
Oh the world seems so dark and the future unknown
But I’ll hold on to hope
And the memories of hope
All the nights that we sang in the Sangre de Cristos
Now the autumn is setting in
It shows that small town feeling
Oh it’s bad news all around
So let’s go and we’ll paint the whole town
See I’ve never felt this far from home
Oh the world seems so dark and the future unknown
But I’ll hold on to hope
And the memories of hope
All the nights that we sang in the Sangre de Cristos
Orchards
Build up the moment
It’s going to take a life to know you
Movement to motion
Through the fire and flames I’ll take you
And we’ll waltz two step
The evenings wrapped in silence
Let the moonshine loosen your lips and eyelids
I’ve got honey on my lips and yours taste quite lovely
Give in the world can just wait
Apple orchards, the stars fall down around us
Still the fruits not as sweet as you and my love
My love, my love, me love
My love has been all through its paces
And my love it sins for your embraces
My love has been all through its paces
And my love it sins for your embraces
So bring me back to her arms
Advice
1: Fear God
There is a God regardless of your opinion
He is almighty and all loving
Know if and give him what is due
Family
After all is said and done, after the fat lady sings, after every song and dance, what remains is family. The older you get the more important this becomes. Keep it alive so that the fire burns at its best when you are old.
Be honest with yourself.
Brutal honesty with yourself will prevent the games of life from hurting you. Know yourself - your strengths and your weaknesses. If you don't lie to yourself you will also not lie to others.
Each day build good memories.
As you get older your life will become a canvas of memories. The more you build good ones now, the more beautiful the splattering will be.
The good things in life do not come by themselves
As you build good memories, know that the best ones take a huge effort and do not just happen. Plan, work and execute the good stuff in life.
Give
Create generosity in your life.
Save
A little bit now will be a lot later. Create the habit of saving by starting small.
Shining Down
I was in the valley.
I was in the shadow of the fall.
I lost my way from home.
I was broke and blinded.
My heart was forced to crawl.
Not knowing what’s to come.
So I called out surrender.
Said “I’m tired of it all.”
But then you came and made me strong.
You brought down my defenses.
Yea you tore down my walls.
Just to show me I belong.
Now I’m right where I’m supposed to be.
In the ray of light shining down on me.
Right where I’m supposed to be.
You’re my ray of light.
Shining down on me.
Scared of starting over
Thought I was home all along.
Well it turns out I was wrong.
How could I have known the pain in my own heart?
Without first falling apart.
Now I’m right where I’m supposed to be.
In the ray of light shining down on me.
Right where I’m supposed to be.
You’re my ray of light.
Shining down on me.
Flight of the Aeronaut
Aeronaut
Fly on, fly on
Take this heart
Grow strong, grow strong
Calling to the dark I’m falling
Fall into your arms
Nothing you have done
Can make me hide away or run
I’ll love you
Through the crumbling of city walls
Through the shaping of a brand new world
Through the taking off and letting go.
Through the crumbling of city walls
Through the shaping of a brand new world
Through the taking off and letting go
Aeronaut
Your past is forgot
I’m casting off
Into these eyes of love
We were meant to find
a comfort, comfort in the kind
In these drawn out hands in
all this broken frame of mind.
I’ll love you
Through the crumbling of city walls
Through the shaping of a brand new world
Through the taking off and letting go.
Through the crumbling of city walls
Through the shaping of a brand new world
Through the taking off and letting go.
Dreams
And when the curtains drawn down
And life begins again
With all your pain and sorrow
After the bitter end
We’ll walk along the streets at night
And i will be your guiding light
We’ll sing a song of better times
When love was still a simple thing
And life was made of what we dreamed
